MAY 2023 - THE ROUTER TABLE

I did not accomplish much this month, because I went on vacation in Northwest France on 22 May. (You can see pix of my vacation here.) However I did make a router table so I can put the tongues and grooves on the floorboards I am making. I have had the router for years but made the mounting table myself. A small piece of aluminum from Deep South Welding in Homestead cost $10.00. I got the wood from scrap I found. After that is was just a little work cutting the aluminum mounting place, marking and drilling the mounting holes in the plate and then mounting the plate in the wooden surface. I also made the fence out of scrap wood. Currently the table sits on two steel sawhorses. When I return I will buy a separate mounting stand like the one I use for the planer. In June flooring manufacture commences.
